Do I need to know how to code?

No. The recommended path uses Make, a no-code tool where you connect apps by clicking — no programming at all.

Will it send emails without me?

No. The agent only writes a draft and saves it to your Gmail Drafts. Nothing is sent until you read it and hit send.

You can start for free on the free tiers of Make and the AI provider. Heavy use may eventually need a paid plan, but trying it costs nothing.

Is my email data safe?

You grant access through Google's official permissions and can revoke it anytime in your Google account settings. The automation runs in your own accounts.

Connect your Gmail

In Make, click 'Create a new scenario' → search 'Gmail' → choose it. When asked, sign in and allow access to your Gmail.

💡 1-min'Connecting' means you give Make permission to read and write in your inbox on your behalf — like giving a trusted assistant a key. You can revoke it anytime in your Google account settings.

Add the 'new email' trigger

Pick the Gmail module 'Watch emails'. Set it to watch your Inbox, and choose to only catch unread emails. Save.

Write the reply prompt

In the AI step's message box, paste: "You are me, replying to this email. Write a short, polite, professional reply in my voice. If something needs my decision, leave a [NEEDS YOUR INPUT] note. Email:" then map the email body field right after it.

💡 1-minA 'prompt' is the instruction you give the AI. Being specific ('short, polite, in my voice', 'flag decisions') is what turns a generic reply into one you'd actually send. You can refine this line anytime.

Save the draft back to Gmail

Add another Gmail module: 'Create a draft'. For the body, map the AI step's output. Set the same recipient and subject (Re:) as the incoming email.

💡 1-minWe save a DRAFT, not an auto-send — on purpose. The AI proposes; you stay in control and approve. This is the whole point: the work is done, but nothing leaves without you.

Get pinged on your phone & approve

Install the Gmail app on your phone (if not already) and turn on draft/notification alerts. Schedule the Make scenario to run every 15 minutes (the clock icon, bottom-left).
